Stift Klosterneuburg Monastery was founded in 1114 and it is the oldest wine estate in Austria producing wine for just over 900 years. It is also one of the largest wine estates in Austria with 108 hectares under vines. The vineyards are located in different appellations; Klosterneuburg, Vienna, Gumpoldskirchen and Tattendorf.
It is also important to note that Stift Klosterneuburg is the first carbon neutral wine estate in Europe.
This "Gemischter Satz DAC", comes from Nußberg, the most famous vineyard in Vienna. The vineyard is co-planted with a variety of traditional Austrian varietals, it unifies the typical Viennese grape varieties with Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Riesling, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Muskateller.
Vienna is the only capital in the world with vinards located within the city's limits. The Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate owns vineyards of legendary reputation in Vienna, such as Nußberg.
