Viticulture

Vineyard: The Carignan is from Villa Alta 500m alt., North facing, the Syrah is from El Menescal - Mas d’en Pubill is 450m alt. facing South and the Merlot is from Mas d’en Caçador, alt. 500 m, North facing.
Soil Type: Licorella.
Vine Age: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and SYrah planted from 1995 onwards, the Carignan and Garnacha are from old plantings.
Irrigation: No irrigation

Yield: Very low.

Vinification:

This is a blend of 45% old Carignan, 35% Syrah and 20% Merlot.
Aged over 18 months in French oak barrels of different age, 7000 bottles made only.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Opaque garnet.
Nose: It is aromatic with hints of Garrigue and ripe dark fruits.
Palate: It is opulent with dark cherry, blackcurrant and a tight focus from the spice and mineral notes. The finish is uplifting, offering a lot of spice and persistence. It is balanced and refined.
Other: This is a refined wine that will pair well with wagyu beef, braised short ribs or duck magret.
