Vineyard: Fairtrade certified vineyards predominantly in the Piekenierskloof region.
Soil Type: Koffieklip and oakleaf soils.

Harvest Date: Middle to end of February.
Yield: Less than 6t/ha.

Vinification:

Six principles form the core of the Six Hats philosophy, "Partnership, Potential, Change, Equity, Dignity and Sustainability". Six Hats seeks to produce wines that will contribute to the lives of the people whose hard work is expressed in each bottle. There are minimum prices set for grapes and an additional percentage of the sales are given back to the community who uses the money to build schools, clinics and other projects to improve their lives.
SIX HATS IS A REGISTERED FAIRTRADE PRODUCER.
Grapes were handpicked very early in the morning allowing the fruits to retain their natural flavor. Only the free run juice was used, allowed to settle and inoculated with selected yeast strain, fermented at 12°Centigrade.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Light yellow.
Nose: Tropical aromas with pineapple and peach.
Palate: Refreshing acidity and and great spice in the mouth. It is fruity and weighty with texture.
Other: Enjoy as an aperitif, with seared tuna or spicy Asian cuisine.
